‘Lighter glass bottle’ is expanded to form ‘Environmentally responsible packaging’

Change in Green Choice product information will take effect on 24 April 2019.

The choice of packaging material has a big effect on the environmental impacts of a drink. In the future, in addition to lighter glass also environmentally certified packages can be marked with the ‘Environmentally responsible packaging’ symbol.

As of 24 April 2019, the supplier can declare via the Partner Network Environmentally responsible packages with the following criteria:

Glass bottles:

  • max 420 gr weighing 0,75 L wine bottles

  • max 835 gr weighing 0,75 L sparkling wine bottles

In the Partner Network use the following choices in the offer form:

Size (l) of sales unit: 0,75 and Sales unit: Glass bottle.

In the product change form the choices are visible all the time.

All packaging materials:

  • The package has been awarded an environmental certification, e.g. FSC or the Nordic Ecolabel (Nordic Swan). The certification must be marked on the product package.

In addition to reducing the packaging material, the usage of either recycled and/or responsibly produced bio-based material significantly reduces the environmental impacts of a package. An environmental certification, e.g. FSC or the Nordic Ecolabel (Nordic Swan) earned for a package tells about the producer’s commitment to sustainable development.

Environmentally certified package choice is visible regardless of the size or type of the package.
