Blended Scotch whisky is made by blending several malt whiskies and usually one grain whisky.
Blended Scotch whiskies are light, fruity and sometimes oaky. You can also discern notes of mild smoke, grain, nuts, toffee, honey and spices in them.
Blended Scotch whiskies are served in mixed drinks, as digestifs, with a dash of water or on the rocks.
Enjoying whisky with soda water or a soft drink is common all over the world. Whisky on the rocks is so cold it can numb your taste buds, but it is still the favourite of many people. As a digestif, whisky can make your stomach feel slightly less full.
Blended Scotch whisky is served at room temperature.
All Scotch whiskies must be aged for at least three years in oak casks.
