Care Card directs people towards the right help

Alko’s Care Card lists a number of organisations that provide help with substance abuse problems; dealing with crises, violence and loneliness; and substance abuse problems during pregnancy and early parenthood.

The National Crisis Helpline by Mental Health Finland offers help in difficult times or in a crisis through discussions with a crisis worker or a trained volunteer. The helpline is free, anonymous and offer help in English and Arabic.

Care Card is also a tool for Alko store staff

As well as being available to hand out in Alko stores, the Care Card also acts as a tool for sales staff when a customer needs help and raises a problem relating to either their own or a loved one’s substance abuse, crisis, violence or loneliness. The Care Card helps Alko staff to provide assistance and the contact details of organisations that offer expert help.

The Care Card was originally created at the request of staff to support them in challenging customer service situations.

Where can I find help for cutting down and quitting alcohol use?

If you are worried about your alcohol use, need support in cutting down on drinking or feel that you cannot quit alcohol use without assistance, seek help immediately.
