- Mutton, lambFlavoursome lamb and mutton can be prepared in many ways. It’s worth choosing a full-bodied beverage to accompany strongly flavoured meats. Lamb is slightly milder in taste than mutton, but the same beverages will work well with both.
Game GameGame usually has quite a strong taste, which is why game wines are primarily full-bodied reds. A richly flavoured beer is also an ideal partner to strongly flavoured game dishes.Beef BeefAlmost any red wine will work with beef, as long as it’s full-bodied enough. You can also opt for full-bodied beers with beef.Strong cheeses Strong cheesesStrong cheeses work well with comparably full-bodied beverages. Taste
Nuanced and developed reds are medium-bodied or full-bodied wines in which maturation has created notes of leather, stable, oak and herbs.
These earthy flavours and aromas become more pronounced as the wine matures and develops. Oak maturation also adds spicy and vanilla notes.
Usage
Nuanced and developed wines go well will rustic meat dishes. You can also pair them with cheese or enjoy them on their own.
Try with reindeer steak, entrecôte or hard, aged cheeses, such as Gouda, Parmesan or Manchego.
How to serve
Red wines are best served slightly below room temperature, at 16–18°C. Chilling a bottle from room temperature to the perfect serving temperature takes about half an hour in a fridge.
