Taste
Strong lager is a bottom-fermented beer with some sweetness and roundness imparted by the higher alcohol content.
In the strong and sweetish flavour you can discern rich malts, caramel, toffee and even hints of plum or cocoa.
Usage
Rich, balanced strong lagers round up the flavours of food and cut through its greasiness, freshening up the mouthfeel.
Try with sautéed reindeer, beef stroganoff or grilled liver steaks.
How to serve
Strong lagers are best served chilled, at 8–12°C. Chilling a bottle from room temperature to the perfect serving temperature takes about one hour in a fridge.
