Food recommendations
- Oriental foodAsian food is very diverse, but exotic dishes tend to be richly spiced and even quite hot. Light, crisp beverages work particularly well with spicy flavours.
Mutton Mutton, lambFlavoursome lamb and mutton can be prepared in many ways. It’s worth choosing a full-bodied beverage to accompany strongly flavoured meats. Lamb is slightly milder in taste than mutton, but the same beverages will work well with both.Chicken and turkey Chicken and turkeyChicken and turkey meat is pale and lean. Light beverages usually work best with them, but the more flavour there is, the more full-bodied your drink can be.Spicy food Hot foodWhen pairing hot and spicy food with alcoholic beverages, beer is usually the best bet. A fresh, pale and relatively light beer works particularly well. If you opt for wine, you should also choose a light and crisp option to offset the spicy food, or maybe even something a little on the sweet side.

Taste
Strong lager is a bottom-fermented beer with some sweetness and roundness imparted by the higher alcohol content.
In the strong and sweetish flavour you can discern rich malts, caramel, toffee and even hints of plum or cocoa.
Usage
Rich, balanced strong lagers round up the flavours of food and cut through its greasiness, freshening up the mouthfeel.
Try with sautéed reindeer, beef stroganoff or grilled liver steaks.
How to serve
Strong lagers are best served chilled, at 8–12°C. Chilling a bottle from room temperature to the perfect serving temperature takes about one hour in a fridge.
